President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have introduced their great-grandson, William Brannon Neal IV, to the world after their granddaughter Naomi Biden welcomed her first child in Los Angeles on January 8.
Naomi, the daughter of Hunter Biden and Kathleen Buhle, gave birth to a healthy 10-pound, 4-ounce baby boy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The first couple visited the hospital to meet their great-grandson, spending about 40 minutes with the family.
President Biden, 82, had previously shared his excitement about becoming a great-grandfather, joking during an interview, "I'm about to be a great-grandfather, Jesus God." Naomi, 31, had planned a C-section for the delivery.
Naomi announced her pregnancy in November with an Instagram Story showing her baby bump adorned with a voting sticker. She and her husband, attorney Peter Neal, married in a historic White House wedding in 2022 — the first for a presidential grandchild.
The president has often spoken about his close bond with his grandchildren. On the SmartLess podcast in 2022, he shared: "They're crazy about me, and I'm crazy about them. Every single day, I contact every one of my grandchildren." Naomi has echoed similar sentiments, crediting her "Pop" for prioritizing family traditions and shared decision-making.
The Biden family continues to celebrate this joyful addition while honoring their strong family ties.
